I've had my eye on this guitar on Facebook marketplace for a while. I messaged the seller a week ago, telling him I wanted to meet up and try it out. Well, today we were finally able to arrange it.
I drove over to his house, cash in hand, fully intending to buy it. I sat down, I started to play it... and I just wasn't feeling it. I can't even explain it. The guitar was beautiful; there was nothing wrong with it. The seller was a good guy, totally trustworthy. I just didn't fall in love with it, and I'm not going to spend good money on a guitar I don't love.
I've been stewing on it all day since... the old me would've settled. Would've bought the guitar, set it up, and probably would've been reasonably satisfied with it. The new me doesn't think like that. I either love it, or I don't do it. I don't have the time or the money for things I don't love anymore.
And I love writing. I love that you love my writing. And because of that love, I will throw out completed pieces that don't meet my standard. That don't make me feel that thing I need to feel before I show it to you. The thing I wanted to feel when I picked up that guitar is the same thing I need to feel when a piece is completed.
I'm working towards meeting that standard for you
