I've had an idea for a piece in the back of my mind for a while. It's one I have to write one day... maybe soon... maybe next.
Elon is a very interesting figure. I read his biography in the midst of the 2024 election. The one by Walter Isaacson. It's excellent, and really helps you connect to the man as a human being... warts and all. Both a tragic and a heroic figure in many ways.... and so much of his story is still yet to be written. I'm excited for his next chapters to play out in front of all of us, aren't you?
I like Elon, but I do have some things to say about him that I want to get off my chest. Not just him, but his class of people. The tech CEO billionaires. The PayPal Mafia... these types of characters. The Silicon Valley crowd. You know the types...
One of the most interesting turns of events in 2024 is that this class of people flipped from democrat to MAGA. Elon led the charge, and many followed.
They were an essential part of the coalition, but their relationship to MAGA is tenuous.
So, before I sit down and start trying to lay out a piece... I want to know. What do you think of these characters? Elon in particular... Do you like him? Do you trust him? What's your overall sense of the guy... I want to know.
