You may have noticed by now that I have a tendency to take the works of great men and internalize the lessons they try to teach us. In the same way the Rolling Stones drew on Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry to eventually write the apocalyptic anthem that is Gimme Shelter, I'm trying to do the same sort of thing with my writing.

I take inspiration and internalize the lessons from great writers before me, and I try to come up with my own 'sound' as it were. I guess writers call this their 'voice'. My voice isn't really mine. It's every writer who ever moved me, ran through me, and poured back out.

You may have already noticed one of those voices in my work. The late, great Scott Adams. I'm a big fan. I've mentioned it before, but I was there for countless Simultaneous Sips in the morning. I'm sure many of you were there with me.
