i watched a judge flinch

he had to watch a close up of charlie's assassination

Yesterday I told you that I'm working on another piece about Charlie Kirk. That's true, I am. But today, I just couldn't find the right words to write, and so I didn't push myself. If there's one thing I've learned in my short career as a writer, it's that you cannot force inspiration. The readers will sense it, and so will I.

I don't want to attach my name to anything I had to force. The realness of what I write is what's most important to me, and I think it's what's most important to you as one of my readers.

You have to wait for it to come, and it shows up when you aren't expecting it.

So, today, I just kind of took it easy. I lifted weights, went for a nice walk in the sun, listened to some Rolling Stones.... had a much-needed nap. Just letting my head clear a bit.

Then I got back on the computer in the evening... and I see that the preliminary hearings have begun for the Charlie Kirk murder trial. Everyone's talking about it. Then one clip shows up in my feed that brought me back to September 10th, 2025.

Do you remember when you first saw it? The clip of him being shot. I do. Vividly. I gasped... I said "no, no, no, no" repeatedly. I talked to my Dad about it, and he was hopeful. He hadn't seen the video; he just heard Charlie had been shot. I wanted to share in his hope, but I knew what I saw. There was not going to be a happy ending.

I'm recalling all of this because today, in the hearings, the judge had to watch the close-up of Charlie being shot in the courtroom. His reaction is on camera. He flinches. You can see the repeated "no, no, no" all over his face.

I don't know what to do with all this. I feel as though a message is being delivered to me... the inspiration to continue this article... but I just need to put it together.
