I hope you are well.
I am writing something right now, and I feel really good about it. It's going to be 1500-2000 words. It's not an epic, just a small piece about the Austin Metcalf story and the deeper meaning behind the reaction to it. I don't think anyone has really covered this story quite like I am about to.
I have to tell you, writing the story of what happened that morning at the track meet is heavy. I vaguely knew the story beforehand, but I never knew the intimate details until I started writing this article... and I am heartbroken. I was holding back tears the whole time I wrote it. I think you will feel that when you read it.
And now I'm reaching the part of the article where I feel a different emotion. Anger... rage... disgust. You'll see why... I'm going to bring receipts... and they might not all be the ones you expect.
And so, I'm going to leave you with that and go back to writing it. I don't like promising release dates anymore, but I am relatively confident I can get this one out to you tomorrow. It is going surprisingly smoothly... I didn't have to go to war to get this one right... it's coming out naturally.
