Yesterday I shipped a post you might have seen on Facebook. A woman named Lyss wrote something ugly on my Charlie Kirk memorial post. I clicked her profile. She was a normal mother with a beautiful little daughter in her photo. And she wrote "Gums McBigot" about a murdered father in a public thread, while her kid's face sat two inches away from her words. A very sad thing. I prayed for her and especially her daughter last night, and I hope some of you did as well.
I wrote her a long reply. It might be the highest-engagement comment reply I've ever posted, and the crazy thing is, it was nearly a thousand words. It wasn't some quick hit for engagement. That's not normal for Facebook. But then, you guys aren't a normal audience. Literate, decent, and patient enough to read long work. That's rare. I know how lucky I am.
Here's what I want to tell you, because it's harder to explain on Facebook.
